Production Manager
The ideal candidate will own the entire production process. They will strategize with other internal teams to ensure operational excellence. The will also run quality assessment to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and control sweater production activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Monitor and manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of orders.
- Supervise and coordinate with knitting, linking, trimming, washing, and finishing sections.
- Optimize resource utilization – manpower, machines, materials – to maximize productivity and reduce costs.
- Ensure production meets required quality standards in coordination with QA/QC departments.
- Manage workforce performance including line supervisors, operators, and helpers; provide training where needed.
- Identify bottlenecks in the production process and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and housekeeping standards on the production floor.
- Coordinate with merchandising, planning, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain daily production reports and KPIs (efficiency, rejection rate, downtime, etc.).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, 5S, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in sweater/knitwear production, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong technical knowledge of sweater manufacturing processes (yarn, knitting, linking, assembling, finishing).
- Proven ability to manage large teams and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with production planning tools, ERP/MIS systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with international buyers and understanding their quality and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and/or Six Sigma methodology.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in garment production is a plus.
