Role Purpose:

The British Council is looking for a Sales and Customer Management Executive to deliver a high-quality, efficient, and welcoming service to new and existing customers. In this role, you will act as a key representative of the British Council, ensuring every customer interaction meets performance standards and contributes to overall success.

Main Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales and customer management targets set by the organisation, while delivering exceptional service to both new and existing customers.

You will handle sales enquiries through telephone and email by responding professionally and persuasively to generate interest in our products and encourage customers to visit the centre for face-to-face consultations. During in-person consultations, you will assess customer needs and recommend suitable courses. You will coordinate placement testing with internal teams, ensuring all candidates receive clear information and that test sessions are run efficiently and courteously. Active participation and support in marketing and promotional events are also part of the role, along with timely follow-up on all sales leads.

Delivering excellent customer support is a key part of this position. You will manage customer needs, respond to feedback and complaints, support students with issues such as absences or course changes, and facilitate meetings with teachers including translation when needed. As the first point of contact at Front of House, you will also handle credit and refund requests.

Accurate registration of new students and re-registration of existing ones is essential. You will ensure that all records are maintained correctly, follow up with customers during re-registration periods, and manage waiting lists. The role also includes maintaining up-to-date databases and reports, ensuring marketing materials are well presented, and overseeing the condition of front-of-house equipment and furniture.

You will share the duty officer role with the Branch Manager, liaising with premises staff and management in case of incidents and ensuring the implementation of Health and Safety and Child Protection policies. The role also includes supervising the Branch Support Assistant, ensuring tasks are covered during their absence, recruiting and managing part-time helpers, and supporting the Teaching Assistant Coordinator as needed.

As part of a wider team, you will occasionally support events and centre-wide activities such as open days, parent sessions, seminars, and offsite promotions. Additional duties may be assigned to meet operational needs. You will be required to work five days a week on a rotating shift schedule, including regular evening and weekend shifts.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong communication, organisational, and sales skills, who thrives in a busy and customer-facing environment. If you are passionate about education and service excellence, we encourage you to apply.
