The role, develops, implements and supports a variety of internal communication projects profiling the RMIT Vietnam in country leader and executive leadership team and works closely with the Learning and Teaching areas of RMIT to enhance internal reputation and understanding of RMIT’s strategy, learning and teaching goals and vision. The Internal Communications Business Partner actively engages with learning and teaching groups and managers and works with autonomy to meet the needs of their stakeholder group. This role takes responsibility for leadership, learning and teaching communications and engagement activities, in addition to all staff Internal communication campaigns to maximise and showcase RMIT’s impact, manage risks and issues and support staff engagement through the development and implementation of a comprehensive content strategy. Reporting Line Reports to: Internal Communications Manager Direct reports: None Key Accountabilities
  • Develop, and implement a best-practice approach to communications, including the development, delivery and curation of high-quality communications strategies to drive employee engagement and brand reputation supporting the Internal Communications Manager.
  • Partner with leadership and learning and teaching teams on internal communications – act as the ‘front door’ to the University Communications function and bring in key team experts as required.
  • Provide communications advice and be an active coach to leadership and learning and teaching functions.
  • Develop integrated communication plans that includes a strong and aligned narrative supporting the strategic plan, learning and teaching goals and Vietnam Country Commitment
  • Develop and maintain productive, professional cross-functional relationships with subject matter experts, leaders, academics and professionals, as well as RMIT service areas to meet agreed outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with specialists from across the University Communications team (on internal, student and external communication campaigns to protect and enhance the reputation of the University).
  • Work with and brief University events team in the delivery of effective online, offline and hybrid staff engagement events
  • Role model the RMIT values, be an active member of the Communications team and support the internal communications team where required.
  • Develop and manage the planning, delivery and measurement of impactful content through the most relevant and effective channels. Continually review channels for effectiveness.
  • Ensure all communications are of high quality and represented in University-wide communication planning and frameworks.
  • Work closely with the Internal Communications Manager and act as 2ic in critical incident internal communications when required
Key Selection Criteria
  • A degree in communications, project management or other relevant fields
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position; managing sophisticated events and projects from the beginning to the end. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary best practice in change management communications and project management.
  • Proven expertise in the management of projects
  • Excellent management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; meticulous organization skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure; aptitude for working individually and collaboratively; and exercise independent judgment at all times.
  • Proven ability to respond to multiple changing priorities while demonstrating sound judgment and exercising prudent decision making
  • Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position, as per the RMIT Behavioural Capability Framework (Connectedness, Commitment to Excellence – Improve and Simplify; Imagination and Innovation; Impact; Inclusion; Integrity).
  • Proven success in developing and executing change communications strategies and campaign plans.
  • Experience working with and alongside multiple stakeholders across an organisation and proven capability in managing expectations
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
