Were looking for an Information Security Engineer to join our Blue Team at Zalo. As an Information Security Engineer, you will support multiple functions that keep our SOC operations running strong. You will help build security tools, monitoring systems, and infrastructure at the highlevel security standard. A strong technical background such as prior cybersecurity experience is a requirement for this position. Ideal candidates should have some experience with security incident handling and response tasks as well as hands-on experience with a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution.

What you will do
  • Design, develop, maintain, and optimize solutions for defensive security systems.
  • Work with technologies such as PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Clickhouse, and Kafka to ensure efficient transport, processing, and storage of security events.
  • Maintain and develop in-house Web Application Firewall solutions.
  • Improve the accuracy and reliability of existing security sensors.
  • Identify suspicious activity or potential security threats to create automated alerts or manually crafted reports for security managers, providing actionable steps.

What you will need
  • Knowledge of information security concepts and practice
  • 2+ years of experience in backend development.
  • Familiarity with popular backend technologies, including row/column-oriented databases, message queues, and caching.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, Bash scripting, and basic Linux server administration skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to advocate for improvements and propose better solutions.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with strong problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
  • Experience working with multi-terabyte data scales.
  • Experience with Machine learning.
  • Experience working independently in an on-premises environment.
