Customs & Trade Compliance Manager (CDZ Manager)

1. Job Purposes:

• Dedicated manager in researching regulations and implementing necessary changes/ action to comply
• Develop customs solution, selling package to broaden customer portfolio, customer pipeline
• Manage Hyper care for new on-board customers
• Develop internal CDZ training to enhance internal expertise
• In charge of CDZ market research

2. Main Accountabilities:

• Act as the subject matter expert in customs regulations and trade compliance.
• Conduct research on customs brokerage and transportation regulations.
• Perform legal and risk assessments to ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Develop customs solutions to streamline operations and optimize compliance.
• Enhance internal procedures and control methods to maintain compliance standards.
• Conduct internal customs trainings in collaboration with the customs expert group.
• Collaborate with solution and operational teams to drive supplier performance.
• Provide support to sales and key account managers in customer meetings and projects.
• Assist the operations team in customer on-boarding and hyper care.
• Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
• Participate in or lead continuous improvement projects.
• Set operational strategy for the assigned area of responsibility

3. People Management:

• Develop a team spirit & experience sharing
• Develop self-learning and regulation research for team
• Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department

4. Functional Experience

Minimum 8 years of experience in logistics, customs, and trade compliance, with a proven track record of policy, procedure development and implementation.

5. Requirements

• Bachelors or advanced degree in International Business, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
• Customs broker license (preferred).
• Expert knowledge of Vietnamese customs regulations, including Import Licensing, Export Licensing, Commodity policy, Free Trade Agreements, HTS Classification, Rules of Origin, Valuation, Customs Post Audit, Settlement Report, etc.
• Experience working with Government Bodies in Vietnam and FDI, Export Processing companies.
• Experience with audits and establishing new entities in Vietnam.
• Industry experience in High Tech/LSHC/E&M/Consumer/Chemical/Retail sectors is a strength.
• Strong compliance mindset and commitment to growth.
• Excellent negotiation, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and people management skills.
• Exceptional verbal, presentation and written communication skills in Vietnamese and English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio); automation skills are a plus
